Tech Apprenticeship Program

Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of technical theater? Dixon Community Theater offers an immersive Tech Apprenticeship Program designed for passionate students eager to gain hands-on experience working alongside professional theater artists on full-scale productions.
This program provides free technical theater training and real-world work experience, giving local aspiring technicians the skills needed to thrive in theater production. As an apprentice, you’ll collaborate with our Artistic Team, professional designers, and parent committees, gaining expertise in lighting, audio, video, stage management, and more. Each apprenticeship is tailored to individual interests and goals.
We invite students from 9th grade through university to apply, regardless of experience. Whether you're a seasoned theater, music or performing arts enthusiast on the verge of launching your career or just beginning your journey, this program will help you build a solid foundation in technical theater and many of the various adjacent professions such as DJ, Venue Sound Design and Operations, Lighting Engineer, Event Manager and so forth.
Our comprehensive training includes:
• Introduction to Lighting
• Audio and Video Systems • Stage Management
• Light Board Operations
• And much more!
Eligibility:
Apprentices must be registered students at Dixon High School, Maine Prairie High School or a local university.

Teen Ambassador Application
Dixon Community Theater is a newly re-formed, fiscally sponsored non-profit & community organization dedicated
to bringing the cultural wealth and benefits of the theatrical and performing arts to our rural community.
We are currently seeking to fill two Teen Ambassador positions. Each position requires a year’s commitment,
mandatory attendance at our monthly evening community DCT meetings, and the genuine desire to help promote
and grow our organization within Dixon! Teen ambassadors will serve to represent the teenage population in Dixon
and will advise Dixon Community Theater in decisions including but not limited to, outreach opportunities and
events, shows and productions, class offerings interest, and more! Additionally, you will have the opportunity to
engage with and learn from various industry professionals and earn valuable experience which can assist with your
