Historical Notes:
The village of Silveyville was first settled by Elijah F. Silvey in 1852. Marker is at the intersection of Silveyville Road and Schroeder Road.All residents moved to an area which is now known as the City of Dixon.
The Dixon Methodist Church was built in Silveyville then relocated closer to railroad tracks. This church is currently located at 209 N Jefferson Street and it stands as a testimony of the community’s resilience.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Mr. Silvey- A very good businessman. Pragmatic and very focused on creating a new town.
Train Station Manager - She is from Chicago and moved to California for better job prospects. Previously, she had a minor clerical job for the railroad company. But moving to California she was able to become a train conductor and then the train station manager at Dixon, CA. With her big city Midwest perspective, seeing Dixon evolve is like a story she wants to share for future generations.Insightful and sees the positive side to any problem.
Mr Thomas Dickson - A hard-working farmer who wants a better life for his family and the community. He has the farmer’s work ethic of putting in a long day of work everyday. Believes in God and a higher power that guides us in our choices.
Ms. Ester- A wealthy heiress, not happy when she found out that the tracks would not cross into Silveyville town. She tries to stop the town by relocating by stopping the payment to the workers.
Mrs. Dickson- An upbeat, warm and loving mother. She loves to cook and host family gatherings. She has a hearty laugh and is very knowledgeable since she reads many books.
Emily Timm - a young farm girl, wise for her age. Emily Sue brings to light compassion and understanding for both families to get together so that there could be a future for the youth.
Mrs. Angela Timm - Emily’s mom, innocent and wants to please society without making problems.
Gus Schulze - Comedic. a childlike, bumbling but generally good-hearted character who is the town vagrant who endeavors to behave with the manners and dignity. He tries to win the attention and love of Ms. Angela Timm.
Martha Keller - She is against the town moving and works at the local grocery market.
