Dixon Community Theater - Code of Conduct
Conduct for all Individuals Participating in Dixon Community Theater meetings, activities, classes and show productions.
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include:
● Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct.
● Offensive verbal comments related to one of the protected classifications listed in the Anti-Harassment statement.
● Deliberate intimidation.
● Stalking or following in person or via social media.
● Sustained disruption of workshops, performances, meetings, or other events.
● Inappropriate physical contact.
● Unwelcome sexual attention.
● Physical, written, verbal or other abuse.
● Threats (whether physical, verbal, written, in person, or via social media).
● Use of any physical force against any person.
● Offensive behavior or language directed to a person, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or insulting language, materials, or conduct; racial, religious, gender, or ethnic slurs.*
Anti-Harassment
Dixon Community Theater is committed to providing an environment free from harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment and harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, national origin or ancestry, creed, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, mental or physical ability, or any other basis proscribed by applicable nondiscrimination laws. This policy applies to DCT staff and volunteers, as well as those with whom DCT does business.
Disciplinary Action
Any individual who violates the code of conduct will be subject to discipline up to and including being discharged from their position, reported to the authorities if necessary, or prohibited from working for DCT in the future. The Board of Directors reserves the right to remove any volunteer or employee from operations. All determinations of appropriate or inappropriate behavior are in the Board’s sole discretion, and the decision(s) of the Board will be final.
